Solar Pumps background and function
The energy created by the sun, commonly referred to as solar power, can be utilised in several of ways to convert the sun’s rays into electricity. With a solar water pump, solar energy is converted into electricity and fed to a pump which circulates water. Solar pumps can be used in borehole, swimming pools, fountains and larger agricultural projects for irrigation and pivot applications.
Solar pumps are an environmentally friendly and energy/cost efficient way to pump water for a wide range of domestic and commercial purposes as well as for agricultural and residential irrigation and/or cattle or livestock watering.
Another very big advantage is that a solar pump is virtually silent.
Solar pumps are self-contained pumping systems which provide a water supply solution for residences or business which normally are located in areas where there is no access to a conventional electrical energy such as a grid or a generator, such as small villages or farms which have widely distributed pastures. It is also ideally suited for the eco-friendly homes or homes in drought stricken areas which use boreholes for their water supply.
