2 x 500kW Vestwoods PowerHelp Pro Series Energy Storage System (1 Mega Watt)

The Vestwoods PowerHelp Pro 500kW is a high-power commercial/industrial ESS engineered for large-scale applications. It delivers 500 kW continuous output (up to ~750 kW peak) and includes an integrated Static Transfer Switch (STS) plus a 550 kVA transformer in a single enclosure. This all-in-one design enables instantaneous switching between grid, generator, and battery, providing uninterrupted power to critical loads. The internal Power Conversion System is a three-phase bi-directional converter (>97% efficiency) that supports adjustable power factor and fast charging/discharging up to 0.5 C rate. An advanced EMS with 3D HMI, along with comprehensive monitoring (BMS, IMS) and control systems, orchestrates efficient load scheduling and protects the system. Cooling, fire suppression (optional aerosol/FSS), and a modular rack design are built in to ensure reliable operation. Currently, up to 4 units can be paralleled (2MW PCS + 4.3MW Battery).
  • Power Conversion & Transformer: 500 kW continuous (3-phase 220/380 V) output, 550 kVA dry transformer. The built-in STS and transformer enable robust parallel operation (grid-forming or grid-following) and meet strict harmonic and safety regulations. Rated AC current is ~720 A (380 V), allowing connection to large loads or paralleling with generators.
  • Battery Capacity: 10 x 215 kWh LiFePOâ‚„ cabinets provide ~ 2150 kWh of storage (120×17.92 kWh cells). Modular stacking means capacity can be scaled by adding more cabinets – up to 10 (each with its own cooling and monitoring). These high-voltage battery modules deliver long service life – over 6000 cycles at 80% DoD.
  • Environmental Controls: Tiered safety includes integrated fire suppression (sprinkler or gaseous), compartmentalized thermal management, and multi-layer battery isolation. The system is designed for full life performance in –30 °C to +60 °C ambient, with IP55 ingress protection (electronics) and IP54 for battery racks. All enclosures are weatherproof and EMC-compliant. Hardware interlocks and leak detection enhance safety in demanding installations.
  • Intelligent Management & Integration: Onboard EMS/EMS software (with HMI or remote interface) supports advanced functions like multi-unit parallel operation, black start, and smooth off-grid transition. The 500kW system can coordinate with multiple PV inverters and generators – energy flows bidirectionally for grid support (frequency regulation, peak shaving) or self-consumption. It interfaces via standard protocols (Modbus/RS485, Ethernet, etc.) for plant-wide energy management.
  • Additional Information: The system is designed to work with 110kW Deye string inverters, which are not included in the package and need to be purchased separately. Additionally, all battery cables are not included in the battery containers and must be sourced independently.




Key Performance Metrics:
Conversion efficiency is very high (>97%); inverter MPPT stages exceed 98%. Round-trip efficiency is typically in the 90–95% range. The operating window (–30 °C to +60 °C) and IP55 rating match tough outdoor environments. Cycle life is >6000 at 80% DoD, underpinning an industry-leading 10-year design life. The system supports true UPS operation with zero switching time and meets international grid codes (including VDE-AR-N 4105, CEI-0-21, G99, NRS097, UNE, etc.) for export.

The 1MW (2 x 500kW) PowerHelp Pro serves large C&I and utility-scale use cases: major farms, factories, large data centers, university campuses, hospitals, and microgrid hubs. It is ideal for renewable integration (storing solar/wind at scale), peak demand management in heavy industries, and as a highly resilient UPS power source. Its scalability (parallelable units can reach MW+ levels) makes it suitable for power plant storage, utility smoothing, and island-mode microgrids.
